Benji Frank was founded by two friends
Mohsin Momin & Azim Karedia.
Upon graduating from college, Mohsin and Azim found themselves drawn to the eye care industry by accident. Mohsin was exposed to it by his fiancée, an aspiring optometrist, while Azim became involved after his beloved grandfather had gone completely blind.

During this time, both saw first-hand how the underprivileged went through life without seeing clearly and how many lost their vision despite preventable treatments. This compelled them to band together and do something about it.
After researching the market and learning more about the vision business, Mohsin and Azim discovered how they could make a difference. By working directly with the manufacturers and selling glasses online to the public, they could create the same quality designer frames found in retail stores but at a fraction of the price. Cutting out the middleman would help their customers save hundreds on eyewear and yet still have money left over to help restore vision to those in need.
Today, Benji Frank sells handcrafted eyewear for just $100 and with every pair purchased, someone in the world also experiences an improvement in their eyesight: One Pair, One Vision.
Who Is Benji Frank?
As college graduates who studied business, Azim and Moe knew they needed a good brand name for
their social enterprise. So when they searched for one that conveyed both the idea of eyeglasses and
their mission of charitable giving, Benjamin Franklin was the one name that stood head and shoulders above the rest.

Although Benjamin Franklin is
widely known as a signer of the
Declaration of Independence and
that guy who flew a kite in a storm
to discover electricity, he's also an
accomplished inventor. Franklin
invented the lightning rod, the
Franklin stove and bifocals, which
he called "double spectacles." But he
never patented his inventions
because he saw his inventions as a
public service to his fellow man.
In honor of this true American hero, Azim and Moe decided to name their venture after him but
using a hipper version of his moniker, Benji Frank. And in the spirit of Franklin, they adopted the
same uncompromising principles that he followed when he was alive:
Deliver value in everything you make and give
back to your communities with what you earn.

how only $100?
We're able to do this because we work directly with the manufacturers and design our own frames.
By selling directly to you through our exclusive website, we're essentially cutting out the middleman.
Plus, we don't have to pay any distribution or licensing fees to create Benji Franks. So our costs are
significantly lower. The results are eyeglasses made of the finest materials, featuring the latest
designs but priced very affordably.
With many eyeglass retail stores successfully selling similar eyeglasses for hundreds of dollars, we
figured selling ours for just $100 would be something that our customers would appreciate. For
prescriptions that require high index lenses that are thinner and lighter than your standard lenses, we only charge $30 more.
the theme
Since our motto is about giving vision, we've chosen to name our eyewear styles after visionary
leaders – like people who had the vision to end slavery, to go the moon and to ask for the Berlin
Wall to be torn down. As more styles are introduced, we will pay homage to more iconoclasts.
